A note from BCD: This Dresden exhibition volume is enriched with detailed introductory articles on the various coinages. Greek coins are covered by Hans-Dieter Zimmermann who does not miss the opportunity to display a photograph of the Berlin Athenian Decadrachm, obverse only! Not surprisingly, a quotation by Karl Marx is also prominently displayed and the general accent is on “culture” which, come to think of it, was not such a bad thing in the DDR.
