Obv. Laureate head of Apollo right; behind, conrol mark and below chin, L. Rev. Horseman galloping left, holding palm branch in upraised right hand; above, T and below, L PISO FRVGI.

Nicely toned and extremely fine.

This type refers to the Ludi Apollinares which were established in BC 212 the annual celebration of which was proposed by an ancestor of the moneyer, L. Calpurnius Piso.
