Paris. 8vo, quarter black leather, gilt spine letters; 220 pages + 3203 catalogue numbers + 2558 catalogue numbers, etc., 7 plates of engravings. Good.
A note from BCD: A vast storehouse of information for someone who has the patience to search through it. The descriptions (including the Greek legends) of coins for sale are particularly useful to the collector of Roman Provincials. Hoffmann was a real perfectionist in every sense of the word. The engravings on the plates at the end, especially the Amphipolis tetradrachms, are works of art. See lot 1560 of the 11 January 2014 Kolbe- Fanning Kreindler sale, hammered at $ 600.
