Special Lot of Vintage Coin Dealer’s Envelopes. Eight envelopes of U. S. firms, seven from German firms and one from an Austrian firm, a total of sixteen old envelopes.
A note from BCD: These envelopes, together with the bid sheet, accompanied the auction catalogues that were mailed to customers in anticipation of their written bids. Today’s electronic age makes them a dying breed and soon the time will come when just a bid sheet will accompany the catalogue when it is mailed to a customer. Most of these envelopes are from firms or individuals whose names are now legend in the numismatic world. An interesting subject for a collection of “exonumia”.
