card covers, darkened; some ink notes. Very Good.
A note from BCD: A
copy that has been stamped “SPINK & SON LTD” on the cover and on the first
page. Probably sent by Mr. George Muller to one of his special customers
soliciting bids for this important auction. There are sixteen plates of
enlargements interspersed among the text, an indication of the sale’s
importance. The text for the five Cretan coins has handwritten starting and
hammer prices written next to it, with the buyers names also stated for two of
them.
