Selinos, Sicily. AR Tetradrachm (27-28 mm, 16.87 g), c. 450. Obv. ΣEΛINONTIOΣ (retrograde), quadriga moving slowly to left, driven by Artemis, who holds the reins, Apollo stands beside her, drawing a bow. Rev. ΣEΛINOΣ, river-god Selinos, naked, standing facing left, holding a branch upwards in his left hand, and pouring a philae over an altar with his right; to left a cockerel in front of altar; to right, a selinon leaf above a bull standing facing left on a base.
